LSA has high performing students! While many of our honor roll earners have already returned to their zoned schools, we celebrated those still here. We were fortunate to have guest speaker Megan Martin inspire our students and remind them they amazing and not their mistakes.

National School Counseling Week focuses public attention to the unique contribution of school counselors within the school system. This week highlights the impact counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan a successful career.
Thank you Howey-in-the-Hills Police Department and LSA staff for your donations of gently used clothing. We lined up all the tables in our cafeteria and had students go "shopping" for themselves and their families. These warm clothes are crucial during our few FL cold days.

Celebrate Literacy Week is designed to raise awareness about the importance of reading and to inspire our students and families to make reading part of their daily routines.
Lake County schools and offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Congratulations, December Staff and Student of the Month, Ms. Tapia and Micha Montgomery. Ms. Tapia was nominated by multiple students and staff for being the GOAT. Micha was nominated for being sweet and good natured.

LSA was happy to participate in the annual Howey-in-the-Hills holiday parade. Staff and students worked together to build the float during our fun Friday hour (student earned time). Dr. Sochocki pulled the float with his truck while his and many staff families threw out candy.
Congratulations to LSA's Staff and Student of the month, Ms. Christian (Ms. Andrews) and Jaylin Howard! Ms. Christian was nominated for her optimism/encouragement of all. Jaylin was nominated for his mentoring and determination. We are so proud of you both.
LSA is so proud and we want everyone to know that Tyrique Hill has earned his diploma early at LSA! We will celebrate him at our end of the year graduation ceremony, but want everyone to know this young man's accomplishment. Watch out world, here comes a wonderful young man!
Wow, what a month October was for LSA. We had a two way tie for staff member of the month and a three way tie for student of the month! Congrats Ms. Ranck, Ms. Green, Emron, Tyrique and Malik!
LSA celebrated Jayden Thompson and Ms. Karen Flynn as our student and staff member of the month for September. Jayden has since went back to his zoned high school and immediately earned student of the week! You represent us well Jayden!
Now that social media is our friend again, we can exclaim the news of our Rookie Teacher of the Year is Charlotte Tapia, Teacher of the Year is Theodore Andrews and School Related Employee of the Year is Vanessa Campbell! You are all so deserving of these prestigious awards.
LSA is grateful for the support of the Education Foundation of Lake County. Their check will enable us to incentivize good behavior and provide uniform shirts to students in need. Thank you @edfoundationlc !
Lake Success Academy understands the importance of using positive reinforcement to increase desirable behaviors. One way we do this is through our Student and Staff of the Month programs. Our students and staff are provided an anonymous way to nominate a staff and a student of the month. The award earners are announced at our morning school-wide meeting. Their picture is taken and placed upon a LSA dollar bill that students can earn through exemplary behavior. The LSA bucks are then used to purchase snacks at our school store (that was created with help from the Education Foundation). Our Student of the Month for August was Warren Thermidor. He was recognized by staff and students for his helpful demeanor and can do attitude. Mr. Andrews, Social Studies teacher, was recognized by staff and students for his sense of humor and willingness to help anyone.
Greetings friends of Lake Success Academy! We have been struggling with being able to access our social media accounts and our School Website. Therefore, we were unable to post about all the wonderful things happening at our school. We now have access and so we will be posting about many of our past celebrations.
